Portsalon & Fort Dunree Tour

Departing from Lough Swilly Marina, this scenic coastal tour offers a breathtaking journey along one of Ireland's most historically rich waterways. Your adventure begins with a pick-up stop in the charming town of Rathmullan, before cruising north along the stunning west bank of Lough Swilly.

Along the way, discover the fascinating ruins of Macamish Fort and the imposing Knockalla Fort, two remarkable pieces of Ireland's coastal heritage. The tour arrives at the picturesque shores of Portsalon, before crossing to the dramatic Dunree Bay, where you'll glide past mysterious sea caves nestled beneath the historic Dunree Fort — a truly unforgettable sight.

The return journey we pass the town of Buncrana, around the North side of Inch island, bringing you back to the tranquil village of Rathmullan, before finishing back at Lough Swilly Marina, leaving you with memories to last a lifetime.

On arrival in Ramelton — one of Donegal's most picturesque heritage towns — passengers are free to disembark and explore for a full hour, taking in the Georgian architecture, cosy cafés, and riverside charm that make this town so special. When you're ready, re-join the boat for a leisurely cruise back to the marina.

All aboard for the most sociable cruise on Lough Swilly! Departing from Lough Swilly Marina or Rathmullan, this one-of-a-kind experience blends stunning coastal scenery with a truly Irish night out.

Cruise past the historic Macamish and Knockalla forts as you make your way to Portsalon Pier, where you'll moor up and step ashore for a well-deserved drink at the legendary Stores Bar. After an hour soaking up the atmosphere, re-join the boat and sail back to Rathmullan, where the doors of the renowned White Harte await.

Enjoy another hour ashore before your skipper whisks you onward — with a drop-off option in Buncrana or a return to Lough Swilly Marina to round off a perfect evening. With complimentary beer and prosecco served on board throughout, this is a night on the water you won't forget.
