Whether you’re a solo adventurer, a couple, or a small group looking to join fellow explorers, our scheduled departures are the perfect way to experience Lough Swilly without booking the entire boat. Simply choose your date, pick your seats, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Our scheduled tours run on fixed departure times throughout the season, giving you the flexibility to plan your day around an unforgettable experience on the water. All tours depart from Lough Swilly Marina, Fahan, with a stop to collect passengers in Rathmullan.
How to Book
Booking is simple. Select your preferred tour and date below, choose the number of seats you need, and complete your booking securely online. You’ll receive a confirmation email with everything you need to know before your departure.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time.
Good to Know: Departures are subject to weather and sea conditions. In the event of a cancellation, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund. We recommend dressing in warm layers regardless of the season — it’s always cooler on the water than on land. Closed-toe shoes are strongly advised.
Our tours operate with a minimum of six booked seats. This allows us to deliver the high‑quality experience our guests expect. Should a tour fall short of this number, we will reach out to arrange an alternative sailing or provide a full refund.
Our Schedule
All departures are weather dependent. In the interest of passenger safety, tour times, routes, and destinations may be adjusted at the skipper’s discretion based on prevailing weather and sea conditions. You will be notified of any changes as early as possible.

Portsalon & Dunree Explorer

Our departure takes you on a scenic journey down the western shore of Lough Swilly, passing the historic forts of Macamish and Knockalla before arriving at the beautiful bay of Portsalon. From there we cross to Dunree Bay, exploring the dramatic sea caves beneath Dunree Fort, before returning to Lough Swilly Marina, Fahan via Rathmullan. A perfect lunchtime adventure.

What’s Included
Every seat booking includes a full safety briefing and MSO approved lifejackets and the expertise of your skipper Conor — an Irish Sailing, commercially endorsed operator with 15 years of boating experience. All tours require a minimum of six confirmed passengers to operate. If this minimum is not reached, guests will be offered an alternative departure date or provided with a full refund
